Seeds of Change
A Collection of Memoirs and Reflections

Seeds of Change

Some stories are written to entertain. Some to preserve a moment in time. Seeds of Change was created to gather the memories, reflections, and quiet lessons that often disappear between generations. Together, these four volumes explore family, identity, relationships, work, loss, resilience, and the ordinary moments that shape a life.

THE COLLECTION

Different journeys through one life, connected by memory, family, identity, relationships

and the moments that shaped them. Words are only part of the telling.

Photographs, documents, voices and QR-linked videos preserve the pieces that a page alone cannot hold.

Volume I

Becoming Me

A journey through family, identity and belonging, immigration and a life lived between two cultures, with all the adventures, choices and unexpected turns that went into becoming me.

Volume 2

Journeys I

Two boys, a thousand stories, and a journey through childhood, mischief, milestones, adventures, photographs, and the messy, wonderful business of growing up together.

Volume 3

Journeys II

Partnership, crazy ventures, big ideas, work, reinvention, plans that went sideways, risks we probably shouldn't have taken, and the unexpected journeys that somehow became our life.

Volume 4

Tides of Time

A quieter, more contemplative companion for moments when another thought, another perspective, or a different way of looking at something might be welcome.

About the author

Nikhat Powell has spent much of her life telling stories - through film, teaching, photographs, and now, words. Her work begins with the ordinary: a conversation, a journey, a family story, a moment that seemed insignificant until time gave it another meaning.

Seeds of Change grew from that habit of looking back and noticing what remained. Across its volumes are stories of family and relationships, migration and belonging, work and reinvention, mistakes and small victories - the fragments of an ordinary life that, gathered together, become something larger.

Written first for her children, and for the generations who will come after them, these stories now reach beyond the family. They are an invitation to look again at the seemingly unremarkable moments of our own lives, and perhaps discover that they were never quite so ordinary after all.

Seeds of Change

A collection of memoirs, reframes, and family archives - kept in the spirit of a well-loved journal.
